Engineered enigma

It is known that engineered wooden floorings are much less expensive than solid wood. They must however be maintained and looked after well like any other hardwood floor in order to enjoy its longevity. It is essential to either sweep the floor with a broom on a daily basis or vacuum it using a soft brush attachment. Keeping the floor clean will prevent scratches and dents from forming on it. When it comes to mopping engineered wooden flooring, it is important to use cleaning agents and products that are compatible with such flooring. While mopping the floor is crucial not to use wax, liquid, oil based soaps, ammonia, lemon or Tung oil to clean its surface. Using plain water is not recommended on engineer wooden flooring.

In the case of spillage or stains, all liquids should be dabbed dry with a soft cloth on an immediate basis. The remaining spill or stain must be cleaned with specially approved stain removers which will not damage the surface. If moisture is left unattended on engineered wooden floorings it may warp or damage it. To protect the floor from further damage carpet or rugs can be placed in areas of heavy movement and traffic.
