A
current check of DCRA licensed flooring
contractors DOES NOT include
the names of many companies seen
advertising and operating in the city. To see the complete list
go to DCRA's website at link above.
The legitimate
company will have workman's compensation
and general liability insurance and bond to
protect you the homeowner.
Do all companies
have Workman's compensation insurance?
NO
Why do some
companies not have Workman's compensation?
It is far more
expensive than general liability which only
insures for property damage that may occur. If a
worker is injured the costs are far higher and
if his employer cannot cover his medical
expenses the injured may expect you to pay the
bill.
Can I save some
money by using a company without "Workman's
comp"? Yes, but if an
injury occurs it may become you the property
owners problem.
In
order to operate legally in District of
Columbia, wood flooring businesses must get a
Basic Business License (BBL) from the DCRA.
Warranty
We
give a one year limited warranty on all of our
workmanship. If something goes wrong, give us a
call. We will be happy to take a look at the
issue and let you know our assessment. Our roots
are in the ground & have been for over 50
years.
Fort Reno
Washington's highest point (in
our backyard) was part of a defensive ring of
forts built during the Civil War to protect the
city from the Rebel Army which was a constant
threat. The structure of the fort no longer
remains but earthen works of supporting
batteries still exist. Click to see 1864
